Qingdao University

Qingdao University is located inside the historic and cultural city of Qingdao, and is imbued with a profound conventional lifestyle and the spirit of the present. It faces the yellow sea and nestles beneath the Fushan Mountain. Before the establishment of the University, its predecessor Qingdao Specialized Institute of Higher learning was founded in 1909.The institute precise in medical education and underwent many stages like Qingdao Medical University, Qingdao Medical Specialized School, and Qingdao Medical School.

In 1924, the Private Qingdao University was established and it was named as National Shandong University and National Qingdao University. Later again National Shandong University was merged with Qingdao Medical Specialized School and a new medical School was established in 1946. Again it got separated in 1956 from Shandong University and became independent as Qingdao Medical School. After Shandong University changed its location and relocated to Ji’nan, then establishment of Qingdao University started in 1985.

The University underwent many name changes and mergers with other University. Qingdao Textile Technical School was named as Shandong Textile Engineering Institute, again as Qingdao Textile Vocational School and Shandong Textile Industry School.

Qingdao Teachers Training College also underwent many name changes. It was in 1993, a new Wingdao University was formed after many mergers. Finally the University has been developed into a large scale university and has also won praises from the society from its high quality of education.

Location

Qingdao is a city located in the east of Shandong Province near the yellow sea. It is a city of One Road and One Belt which connects Europe and Asia. Qingdao is a populous city with an urban population of about 6,188,100.The city is also known for Industrial centre, naval base and seaport. Jiaozhou Bay Bridge is the world’s longest sea bridge that connects Qingdao with Huangdao. It is also famous for Tsingtao Brewery, which is the second largest brewery of China.

Qingdao was once listed under China’s top ten cities and was also declared the most livable city in the year 2009 by the Chinese Institute of City Competitiveness. The city has 7 districts and 3 country level cities. The city has many tourist attractions like the Catholic Church, Golden sand beach, underwater world, Lu Xun Park, and Small Qingdao Island.

Climate

The city faces different climate with distinct marine features. The region experiences abundant rainfall in a year. August is the hottest season of the year with 25.1 degree centigrade. January is the coldest with temperature below zero degree centigrade and 0.9 degree centigrade. Winters are windy with mild climate. Though the temperature goes down the sea does not freeze.

Intake

MBBS in China has specially 1 Intake in a year. Admissions generally start from the month of April. But pre booking starts earlier. Universities of China has very limited number of seats and most of the seats are filled by International students apart from India.Qingdao University accept applications of good student only with high percentage.Each University has set their own percentage criteria and NEET score for the students.

Classes start from the month of September onwards. So Students start departing from the first week of September only.

Scholarship

Qingdao University offers scholarship to International students based on the percentage of marks acquired by the student in intermediate. Almost all the Universities in China provide scholarship. Each University has its own benchmark for providing Scholarship. The Scholarship amount ranges from Rs.50,000 to 5 lacs.

It completely depends upon the students performance including his attendance. Any student who is doing well in her studies is eligible for Scholarship.

Hostel

Qingdao University hostel is located within the campus only. The University has two separate hostels for both boys and girls and they are provided with all facilities inside the hostel. Canteen and super markets are both available within the university campus. Students don’t have to go out for buying any necessity items. Hostel is very safe for girls as it is provided with full safety and security. Students are not allowed to enter the hostel without a biometric entry. It is compulsory for all the students. Also if any outsider wants to meet the students they have to take special permission, then only they are allowed to enter inside the hostel.

Documents Required for MBBS Admission in Qingdao University

  • 10th, 12th Mark sheet.
  • NEET score card.
  • 1 passport size photograp.
  • Passport.
  • Physical Fitness certificate.
  • Gap certificate (in case there is any gap in the academic year).
  • 6 months bank statement (minimum balance should be around the fees of 1st year).
  • Character certificate.
  • Migration & Transfer Certificate.

Eligibility

  • An applicant must be Non-Chinese National and must possess a valid passport with a valid Chinese visa for study in China.
  • Applicants must present their HSK marks cards depicting their proficiency in Chinese language. However, relaxation can be given to students applying for programs taught in the English Language.
  • Applicants must abide by the rules & regulations of the University as well as the Chinese government.
  • Undergraduate program applicants of not more than 25 years and must submit high school mark sheets.
  • Master’s degree applicants of not more than 35 years, a bachelor degree holder and must submit 2 recommendation letters from professors.
  • A Doctoral program applicant must be a Master degree holder and not above 45 years of age. Submission of 2 recommendation letters from professors is a mandatory requirement.

Expertise and relevant team of professionals verify and selects the students who are granted pre-admission letters by the mid of June. By the end of June, these must apply for University Scholarship online. Once the applications are scrutinized, the students are awarded the scholarship in the month of September each year. The provincial department where the university is located takes the responsibility of all applications. Each university in the province receives funds and aids from the Provincial Department of Education according to the number of students who have been awarded the scholarship. If the student does not abide by the rules & regulations of the university or the government, the university has the authority to report to the provincial department of education and his/her scholarship is deemed to be terminated with immediate effect. The university or college must submit a comprehensive report of students’ assessment to the provincial department that will help them determine the student’s eligibility for scholarship in the coming year. This report must be submitted in writing by the end of May.
