About Wenzhou Medical University

Wenzhou Medical University is under the direct administration of the Zhejiang Provincial government established in the year 1912. It is one of the largest University of Zhejiang Province with three campuses, which are located at Chashan which is the main campus, Xueyuan Road and Dongtou district (Binhai Campus). It is one of the top ranked universities in China which is ranked in 18th position.

In ESI rankings also the WMU is ranked in No 80 among all the Medical universities of China. The University has 1 State Key Laboratory,1 Provincial “Collaborative Innovation center under the Zhejiang 2011 Collaborative Innovation plan,3 Provincial Level –A Disciplines of Distinctions,2 Provincial Priority Development Disciplines, 1 National Engineering Research Center,13 Provincial or Ministerial Key Laboratories/Research centers, and 7 Level- B Disciplines of Disciplines.

The University offers 26 undergraduate programs in 4 different disciplines like Science, medicine, management and Engineering. Wenzhou Medical University has partnered and joined hands with many International universities and institutions all over the world for promoting exchange programs with students and scholars.

2014 and 2016 passed out graduates of Wenzhou Medical University were also ranked as the best graduates of the University in terms of quality and talent. The passing ratio of the Medical practitioners of the University is also very high.

Location

Wenzhou Medical University is located in Wenzhou city southeastern coast of Zhejiang Province. The city has its own International Airport where 40 airlines operate in different cities of China on daily basis. Wenzhou is surrounded by mountains, plains, broad seas and long rivers all around. The city is also full of various business activities. It exports food, wine, jute, timber, Alunite and paper. Alunite is found abundantly in Wenzhou so it is also known as “Alunite Capital of the World”. Wenzhou has a very mild climate. Winters are short while summers are long. The maximum temperature is 28 degree centigrade during the summers and the minimum temperature goes below -4 degree centigrade. Rainfall occurs during the summers and spring.

Wenzhou has a warm climate.The average temperature of Wenzhou is 18 degree centigrade.Summers are generally long, hot and humid whereas winters are short and mild.July and August is the hottest month of the year.While January and February is the coldest month with a temperature of 8 degree centigrade. Rainfall occurs in abundant during the spring season and December is the driest month of the year.

Intake

All the top medical university seats in China are filled up very soon. The Universities are left with very few seats in the month of March and April. So advance booking is required to hold the seats. Students from across the globe come to China for studying Medical course as the country offers World Ranking Universities. By the month of June almost all the seats are booked. Scholarship

The Universities in China has set up its own benchmark for providing Scholarship to International students. Wenzhou Medical University offers Scholarship to top performing students. Scholarship amount ranges from 50,000 to 5 lacs. It completely depends upon the student performance including physical activities. Any student who is doing well in her studies is eligible for Scholarship.

Hostel

Wenzhou Medical University has a very large hostel built for both boys and girls. It offers all the facilities for the students with double sharing room. Canteen facility is also available nearby the University where they can buy everything of their daily use. In China there is no Indian mess, students are provided with one common kitchen where they can cook of their own. Hostel is fully secured with securities and hostel warden is always present to look after the problems. Outsiders are not allowed to enter the hostel without permission. Students also have to go through a biometric entry before entering the hostel premises.

Documents Required for MBBS Admission in Wenzhou Medical University

  • 10th, 12th Mark sheet.
  • NEET score card.

  • Gap certificate (in case there is any gap in the academic year).
  • 6 months bank statement (minimum balance should be around the fees of 1st year).
  • Character certificate.
  • Migration & Transfer Certificate.

Eligibility

  • An applicant must be Non-Chinese National and must possess a valid passport with a valid Chinese visa for study in China.
  • Applicants must present their HSK marks cards depicting their proficiency in Chinese language. However, relaxation can be given to students applying for programs taught in the English Language.
  • Applicants must abide by the rules & regulations of the University as well as the Chinese government.
  • Undergraduate program applicants of not more than 25 years and must submit high school mark sheets.
  • Master’s degree applicants of not more than 35 years, a bachelor degree holder and must submit 2 recommendation letters from professors.
  • A Doctoral program applicant must be a Master degree holder and not above 45 years of age. Submission of 2 recommendation letters from professors is a mandatory requirement.

Expertise and relevant team of professionals verify and selects the students who are granted pre-admission letters by the mid of June. By the end of June, these must apply for University Scholarship online. Once the applications are scrutinized, the students are awarded the scholarship in the month of September each year. The provincial department where the university is located takes the responsibility of all applications. Each university in the province receives funds and aids from the Provincial Department of Education according to the number of students who have been awarded the scholarship. If the student does not abide by the rules & regulations of the university or the government, the university has the authority to report to the provincial department of education and his/her scholarship is deemed to be terminated with immediate effect. The university or college must submit a comprehensive report of students’ assessment to the provincial department that will help them determine the student’s eligibility for scholarship in the coming year. This report must be submitted in writing by the end of May.
