Kharkiv National Medical University was established in 1805 and is located in Kharkiv city of Ukraine. Formerly the University was also known as Kharkiv Medical Institute and Kharkiv State Medical University. The University first started providing medical education in the year 1951, to Mongolian students, China and Eastern Europe. Later in the year 1961, it started training students of Africa, Latin America and Asia. The University has trained more than 3,600 specialists from different countries.
More than 700 professors are employed in the University. Most of the prominent faculties include 13 distinguished doctors of Ukraine, 8 winners of the state prize of Ukraine in Science and Engineering, 28 employees-Members of International Medical Associations, and 28 academicians of the public academies of Ukraine. Many foreign students are studying in the University; presently the ratio of Indian students studying in the University is 3400. Most of the students are studying Medicine, some Nursing, and some of them in the preparatory department. Others are undergoing post graduate and clinical post graduate courses, Dental faculties and professional probation at the departments of orthopedics, oncology, surgery, urology, psychiatry, obstetrics, gynecology and ophthalmology. The University is also associated with many International Universities of different countries.

The climate of Kharkiv is cold and snowy in winters. Whereas summers are very hot and dry. Winters are generally very cold and the total rainfall in a year is 513mm.Maximum rainfall occurs in the month of June and July.
Kharkiv National Medical University has total 24 Hospitals. Out of which 9 of them are super specialty hospitals. The Hospital is comprised of 11,430 beds which is scattered in the whole city of Kharkiv. Special care and attention is provided to the students and check their clinical rounds on regular basis with the patients. Practical cases are given to them like case histories and determine their result. The University provides best equipments and modern technologies to train its students. Both Practical and theoretical training is provided at 103 departments of the University. Practical sessions are held at Kharkiv’s best hospitals.
Kharkiv National Medical University has a very good hostel facility for the students. In fact, the University has one of the best hostels in the whole country of Russia. There are separate hostels for both boys and girls. Students can choose their room according to their own. They are provided with one seater, 2- seater and 3 seater rooms all with different charges. All the rooms are embellished with full facilities. Students don’t have to carry anything with them. Everything is provided in the hostel room with bed, pillow, mattress, Almira, table, chair, blanket, water heater, and lights. All rooms of the hostel have 1 attached kitchen and one attached washroom each for one room.
Students can access wifi facility free of cost in the hostel. Apart from self-cooking students are also provided with mess facility in the University hostel especially for Indian Students. They can have both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food at the hostel.

The admission process of Kharkiv National Medical University is quite simple and easy. Students who wish to study at the University are required to submit all their educational documents to the University such as Passport, NEET Score Card, 10th and 12th pass Certificate and two photographs.
After documents submission the candidate will recieve the admission letter from the University within 2-3 days and the Invitation letter from the Ministry within 15-20 days.
Next the Visa process will start which takes a maximum time limit of 10-12 days.
After all the procedures are done, the candidate is ready to fly.

In addition, the University demands that the applicant must be of sound physical and mental health, testimonials of which have to be furnished at the time of admission. The candidate must be able to provide medical certificates stating the same. The applicant is also required to undergo HIV test as a mandatory clause for admission.
